RZ insurance

Wow just wow.

Over £1450 for 12 months insurance policy with Lexus, what drugs are these people on. Thought they may be cheaper with their cash back policy by not going over your declared milage, that would be a great way of saving cash.

I have been quoted £600 by my current insurance company for a full 12 month policy

I will be looking elsewhere.

I've never found Lexus insurance competitive - a bit like the AA in that regard.

Your profile states you have an NX, you have posted this in the RZ forum and the title has RX in it. I'm assuming your quote was for an IS 🤣

My insurance comes up for renewal in early Nov so called NFU for a price as at now. They could give me one until 30 days before my renewal date. As I had just received an email about “the exciting new Lexus insurance policy” I decided to waste my time and get a Lexus quote - £ 1,000. NFU are currently £ 650 for mine and my wife’s car and new replacement if stolen or written off for the first 2 years. NFU would need to increase the RZ to almost 2x current to not be competitive against Lexus.

I read an article today which said this week Thatchem are publishing a new scoring scheme which the insurers will be taking into their risk assessments. This new scheme will reflect the safety features that are standard on a model. So, say a 2024 RZ with cross traffic warning will score better than a Tesla without it on that element of the risk avoidance. Maybe all the dongs we have to live with may end up saving us a bit of insurance cost.

I have been using Saga for a number of years and always found them reasonably competitive.  Paid £537 last year when I first bought  the RZ and renewed a couple of months ago  at £620 so a 15% increase. Could be worse I suppose. I did use Lexus insurance about 8 years ago but they started getting silly with their price so moved to M&S insurance first then Saga after M&S increased their prices significantly on renewal.
