Number 3

Part code is 90919-05060. I normally recommend a fault is properly diagnosed rather than just swapping out parts but you can buy a 3rd party sensor on eBay for £8 - which would be the cheapest way to confirm if the sensor is at fault or not. You could then either keep that sensor or purchase a OE Denso one.

Or you could swap intake and exhaust sensors over (3 and 4 above (same part for both)) to see if the fault changes or not.

Thanks again Colin.

I might order this Hella one with the brake parts I'm ordering.

Think this is compatible

I disconnected the sensor and the same code popped up with no others codes appearing.

I took out the sensor for a look and the seal looks like it's gone a bit hard.

I also noticed on the connector there's heat shrink on the wires going into it.

Is that normal or has someone been at it already?

Oh, and now the engine management light comes on straightaway after clearing it everytime.

I checked mine just now there is no heat shrink on the cables looks like a repair on yours. Strip the cable & check condition you may have a loose joint connection on the cable joint or the terminal plug.

This may help.

Thanks for that.

Yes and mine looked like they got a bit too much heat at some stage.

Wasn't done in my 8 years of owning the car so it must have given someone a spot of bother when the car was less than 3 years old and had less than 30k miles on it.

It wouldn't usually need a fix if I had to guess the most probable cause is rodent damage. A camshaft sensor is not really a service item so can't see it being disturbed at 30k.

If you replace the sensor & light stays on chances are the wiring has come apart, doesn't look particularly difficult to resolve either with a new plug or resolder

Also noticed my connector is grey and yours black so possibly a replacement.

I swapped it with the cam position sensor there and the same code is popping up.

I can't test the connector with a multimeter because the Battery is in the booth. 🙈

Why is the Battery stopping you from testing the connector sorry don't quite understand?

Wanted to check voltage at the connector from the Battery terminals.

Wiring from the sensor goes directly to the engine ECU - so all within the engine bay

I wouldn't be sure how to check that way 🥴

A decent diagnostic machine should be able to tell you if there is signal or pulse being sent to the sensor if not & its flat on the graph it means the cable needs rewiring.  If your not confident with electrics don't tamper with it as you could potentially short something out causing more damage. Or look for an auto electrician to fault find or at least tell you what the issue is.

If I had to make a guess it's the connector cables considering its been messed with before now.

Where are you located?

I'm in Ireland.

Probably best to get an auto electrician to diagnose it properly.
