Double Locking Question

Go to solution Solved by Heuer,

Recommended Posts

When I double lock my LBX sometimes the hazards flash and it beeps 5 or 6 times.

Other times I double lock it, it doesn't do this.

I'm pressing the lock button twice within 5 seconds to double lock it as the user manual suggests.

I haven't yet figured out what I've done differently in both instances.

Does anyone know why this happens?

The less than useful "check your rear seat" warning. If you open a rear door at the start of your journey it will warn you that you may have left something (child, dog, rabbit, bag etc) behind. You have to open a rear door and check before setting the lock otherwise you get the nagging beeps. This can be disabled but only by the dealer!

If the LBX has the same version of the Lexus Interface (i.e. the multimedia operating system) as my NX then the "rear seat reminder" can be disabled by the owner.

To do this:-

  • On the multimedia screen, select the Settings (gear) icon
  • Next, select "Vehicle customize"
  • Select "Utility"
  • Toggle the "Rear seat reminder" option to Off

Apologies in advance if this isn't possible on the LBX.

Or a notice comes up to mute the rear seat alert by holding OK down for a few seconds. That works also (mostly)

In the Lexus app I've disabled the rear seat alerts because I kept getting those notifications in the app quite a lot.

Thanks, just tried that and the option under Utility doesn't exist.
