Restart after airbags deployed

Can you restart rx450h 2016 after airbag deployment? At the moment showing key not detected on car screen. Ignition not coming on steering lock still locked.

You possibly have to do a reset. Not sure if disconnecting the Battery and then reconnecting would work??

It would seem a sensible design feature as the vehicle is likely to be damaged and will not have the requisite safety features.

Could be the pyro fuse. It's designed to blow in an accident to minimise the risk of fire, electric shock etc.

100% the pyro fuse on Battery lead, explosively severs the Battery connection to the car 12v Battery, if airbag is deployed. Will probably need the whole Battery harness replaced, as unlikely you can buy just the fuse part. Google Mat Armstrong on YouTube, he has many examples of this in the cars he has repaired….
