Hi,

I recently watched a guy on YouTube describing 10 worst engines that should not last 50k miles or not much over it. According to him one of them is Lexus is250. My 2015 is250 has 75k miles and I was hoping to drive it as long as possible but his opinion made me intrigued. What do you guys think the weaknesses are in 250’s especially in mk3  redoing?

Im referring to the one below (watch from 16:40).

Obviously the video is hyperbole to get views, there are plenty of people who have 100k+ miles on an IS250. The main cause of unreliability is they moved to Direct Injection with this engine and didn't consider what it would do to the intake valves which get carbon build up. Best thing to do is change the oil regularly, using a quality oil.

You often if not always have an insightful answer for these things... Are you a Lexus/Toyota master technician or mechanic?
