I have ordered a new UX 300h back in July, and was told at the time it would be delivered around November.

This is my first Lexus and I have been tracking the build on the app and website, but it hasn't gone any further than Order in Progress. However, the other day the dealership emailed me to say it was now in build and the delivery date was still on track for November. However, the Lexus app and website doesn't reflect this.

Is the app / website unreliable and should I ignore them? And instead rely on the dealership notifications?

Not sure for your precise questions,  but for sure the dealer should have the accurate info. I would not trust the Link+ App.  It is limited , IMHO.

The UX 300h I got was already in country when I decided to take that one rather than wait 6 to 9 months 🙂. Fortunately it was a color and interior that I liked.

It isn’t as dependable as it used to be because they had trouble with ships being hijacked.  It will come around Africa rather than the Red Sea while nutters are attacking ships and then it will go to Livorno in Italy before coming here.  It will then go to the central distribution depot at Burnaston before going to your dealer.  Your dealer will give you the vessel name and you can track it to Portbury near Bristol.  Add another couple of weeks to it coming ashore.

Looks like the app has just started working as I have just received a notification saying the car has been built and has left the factory.

Now you need a vessel name.

In my experience the app was never very reliable.

It turns out the app / website, automated emails and occasional dealership email has kept me pretty much up to date through all of the delivery stages. And the estimate I was quoted was pretty accurate. Was initially quoted 21 November and I'm now picking up the car this Thursday (14th), so a week early.

Toyota / Lexus fixed the IT system glitch that allowed a backdown in to the new vehicle order tracking process to prevent people from status diving using the order number via a PC internet browser.
