LS460 Lumbar Support Rebuild Kit (Gears)

Hey All

 

I have a 2007 JDM LS460 which I love and it's in mint condition. The only fault is the driver's seat lumbar which I understand fails as the gears in the motor crumble over time. I have done some research and I believe there is a rebuild kit for the motor, which is a lot cheaper than changing the entire umbar mechanism.

My question is, does anyone know where i can get the kit in the UK? Or from abroad at a reasonable cost. I'm happy to have a go at repairing it myself if I can get the gears.

Otherwise, does anyone have a 2nd hand lumbar motor that isn't too expensive?

For everyone who needs it, I emailed Leggett&Platt who are the owners now of Shukra, the manufacturers of the gears and planetary etc in the lumbar mechanisms. They make many such items for all sorts of vehicles.

They have come back to me and are sending a rebuild kit from Canada to me, I am only paying for shipping.

Super company, super service. I wish more where like them!

Let you know how I get on re-building the actuator once the kit arrives.

I’m now going to write to Ft.Worth in the USA and see if they will send me several bars of gold bullion…..I will of course pay the shipping 😀

Seriously that’s great, still companies out there willing to put customer service and satisfaction first.

If you get the time take some pictures of the job and make a tutorial please.
