To buy or not to buy?

Looking to buy a Lexus CT200h with 42k miles on the clock. According to stats, the hybrid Battery should be good for around 100k Miles Or ( more importantly ), 10 years. As this car is no 10 years old I assume that the ' good for 100k miles' bit is invalid and I should be more concerned about the age. Am I right in this assumption or does anyone have any experience of this situation? I would be interested to know.

If health tested  (annually) the warranty is 15 years or 100,000 now. Hybrid health check on its own was £59:00. My recent GS450h was 15 yrs old and 91,000 miles when sold and never had a problem.

Lexus will warrant the hybrid Battery for 15 years provided you get a hybrid health check carried out once every 12 months / 10k miles. It is either included in a service from a Lexus dealer or you can pay around £50.

Plus, many people go well beyond 100k miles without issue.

I am not sure but I think that the hybrid Battery is covered up to 10 years with the yearly hybrid check and from the 11th to the 15th year other components are covered such as inverter, MG1 and MG2 but not the hybrid Battery.

No, it’s the other way around. Only the Battery is covered, not the inverter or motors.

Maybe it is different between Italy and UK and between Toyota and Lexus, because In Italy the warranty of Toyota covers the Battery for the first 5 years, from the 6th to the 10th year the Battery is still covered through the hybrid health check every year, but from the 11th to the 15th year the warranty covers the other hybrid components but not anymore the Battery.

This is a UK focused site, so unless it is explicitly stated to the contrary, assume details posted here are UK only. There is a difference in warranty terms across European countries.

For the HHC in the UK, both Toyota and Lexus in the UK provide 15 year warranty on the battery:
