Speed limit notification

Recommended Posts

My lexus LBX has finally arrived. I am very satisfied with the driving comfort and the set-up of the car.

There is one thing that I did not quite understand: the system that reads the speed limits signal always "gets confused" by capturing the limit of the road that turns to the side - for example if the limit of the main road is 70 km/h when it sees the limit at the junction of 40 km/h it reads that and signals the exceedance, although I didn't get off the main road.
Is there a way to avoid this? Is there a way to silence the sound warning when you "exceed" the speed limit?

I don't think so. They often get confused when seeing speed limit signs on goods vehicles as well.

Agree with Terry, we have had some terrible experiences with speed sign recognition with our BMW X3 which when on a motorway, will suddenly slow down from 100km/hr to 60 as it "thinks" you are on the road above while driving under a bridge or road section, which has caused many frustrations our side and disgruntled stares from motorists who were behind us.

The system on our VW Golf is quite poor as well. Picks up on most signs including truck speed limits.

The adaptive cruise then speeds up or slows down accordingly which is quite dangerous so I've turned the system off.

Excess Speed warning cannot be turned off.

LBX Speed Sign System is better than most.

Press the button next to ‘Climate’ .. the 6 dots for shortcuts and press the road sign/speed assist and it’ll go off. You have to do this every time it’s switched on but it only takes a sec. My partner finds it annoying so I turn it off
