RX300 (2002) O/S rear brake calliper needed

Recommended Posts

Put my beloved RX300 in for MoT before it was due to be sold only for the O/S rear calliper to seize while on the rolling road!  🙄

Apparently no OEM parts can be found and the Lexus replacement part is £260 plus VAT. I had agreed a sell price of £900. . . . 🥲

Any advice or pointers appreciated - apart from “scrap it”!

Cheers

Neil.

dont toyota sell a caliper rebuild kit? it's not hard to rebuild callipers.

Have you tried brakes international? not sure if this is your model:
https://brakeparts.co.uk/shop/Lexus/Rx300/00-03/Rx300 Mcu15 3.0 Petrol/Front - Brake Calipers and Wheel Cylinders

alternatively amayama or partsouq.com

What year of RX?

I bought a cheap set of non-genuine ones on eBay for my Gen2 and they have been fine.

Really struggled on my Gen 1 though - ended up importing a used set from Japan as the carriers were unserviceable!

Thanks Adrian

Brakeparts are out of stock, and neither amayama nor partsouq have a match.

GPN is 4773048020.

I’ll start lighting candles. . . . .

Cheers

Thanks again Adrian

saw that, but seems it was the wrong year for mine.

I’ve now decided to scrap the car, and advised all the interested parties who then came back and started a bidding war for it as a diy project! Best bid £800 as is!

Cheers
