I could have sworn there was a previous post on this or in the user manual, but a search of both can't find anything.

Is there still a requirement with modern headlights (and therefore on IS300H) to put stickers or adjust beam settings for driving in Europe?

If someone knows how to adjust please advise, otherwise I'll invest in a sticker set.

Many Thanks

Max

All UK Lexus vehicles with HID/Xenon or LED lights have a flat beam pattern and therefore don't require stickers.

Saves me a job, thanks Colin!

Does that mean my regular (non-led) IS300h from end of 2018 is included in that category,  @ColinBarber ?

The 1st time I crossed over to France (in my previous car, a 2016 Honda) I fitted the stickers, ony to see most people don't fit them.

Subsequent times I never bothered but always kept a set in the glovebox, just in case. I do add the uk sticker in the back also just in case.

I have even been stopped by French police and they didn't mentioned them (they seemed more concerned with my luggage and by the way, they weren't nice even though it was a routine control and I had done nothing).

I don't think there's any French legal requirement for right-hand-drive cars to have stickers on their headlamps. So the police wouldn't do anything if you didn't have them. Instead, there's a legal requirement not to dazzle oncoming traffic. So if you drove at night with unadjusted headlights that dazzled oncoming traffic on your left the police might intervene. But as Colin says, the IS300h has a flat beam rather than raised on the left as headlights used to be, so the stickers aren't needed.

All series III IS have either HID or LED lights with flat beams.

With the facelift (MY17), all headlights were either LED single beam or LED triple beam design

Thanks a lot @ColinBarber . I now need to translate it to French and keep it written on a note next to the stickers in the glovebox 😜

Slightly left field of topic but a few years back we had a problem with the caravan on a fairly steep and twisty D road which ended wirh the French police stationed above and below us to manage traffic, for 3hrs!

Never even spoke to me to ask to see documents, breathalyser etc.

One of them was a very attractive female officer, with a machine gun🫢

Generally speaking French police does not want to have anything to do with British and try to stay way clear. Been driving in France for many years and have never been stopped and it almost seems that when you drive past police car they almost demonstratively look away. Not sure that is good thing or bad thing, but it is just my experience driving there.
