Looks like the screen LED has gone. Assume it just happened rather than the screen gradually decaying. May be a replacement job. You could go to alixpress which has soe excellent upgrades

Not sure what to suggest. You are most likely looking at a replacement screen.

One troubleshooter said they got results from unhitching the Battery lead for 20 minutes – makes no sense to me and is a pain as car has to relearn driving parameters.

Go to fleabay and look for 400s being broken up

Ive got a spare screen and buttons in the garage, let me know if your after it.

I got it to fix a problem with my old rx but never did it before I sold it for a newer one

I agree.  the suggestion are great and I have tried most of them, except for replacing the screen which I do not think will solve the problem but may worth a trial
