I have a 1999 LS400, I'm wanting to put my amplifier and subwoofers in it.I dont want to mess anything up and keep any modifications to a minimum.

Easiest way would be fit a speaker level to phono level converter and just use one channel for the sub.

I would assume these converters somehow match the impedance of the original sub woofer ( Lexus subs used to be only 2 Ohms) and output the required dynamic range.

Disconnect the speaker wires from the original sub, connect to the converter then phono to your sub amp.

Where to obtain sufficient power for the amplifier is another issue with it located in the boot.

Im actually looking for the best way through the firewall,how to remove the necessary body panels,best route to the trunk,and the best place to mount the amp,and the best way to keep the box from sliding. I thought about using hook and loop (velcro) . I had been using two L brackets screwed into box then some wood underneath the carpet.
