RX450h Major Service

This thing aboot us Scotsmen wearing nothing under the kilt…? Well yesterday I had a premonishment (new word) and put on a pair of plastic pants before phoning Lexus, Glasgow, some 3.25 hours away from Nairn. Sholy hit…!! £660.00 for the major service, mins…?

Does anyone have a Lexus schedule for what actually gets done at said service? Plus photos of the lady escorts they obviously include at this price.?
Off to rinse out them pants .

Prices and what's covered is on the Lexus website, you could go for a service plan to spread the costs.

That’s the price of ownership of a luxury vehicle these days I’m afraid. 
When I purchased my vehicle I was offered a 3 year service deal, which I took, but in effect only saved about £100!

I know these are scary prices these days, I’m from a generation when a tyre was £20, and a service £40, sadly the years have rolled by.

The only point I would make is that, if you purchase a Lexus, it really should be a long term decision, to maintain, and keep, and avail yourself of the 10 year warranty.

I don’t know, but I would suggest that ownership of other premium brands, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, with an equivalent vehicle, will be very similar in maintenance costs at a franchise dealer, and far mor expensive to repair when their 3 year warranty expires.

I do speak from experience as well, Audi are fantastic at selling their cars, but aftercare is nowhere compared with Lexus!
In summary, you pays your money, you make your choice.

Yep, £660 for a service and £100 for wiper blades, and its going up by £80 next year.

Audi offer “all in” - servicing, mot, roadside assistance, and warranty - which is 2 years for £856, and often available with 25% off. It is cheaper than the Lexus option even before discount. Vehicles are eligible up to 6 years old, so can extend to 8 years if you purchase just before the car turns 6. They used to offer it for more vehicles but recently been limited to 2l engines or smaller.

That said, Lexus is still much cheaper than my Volvo experience.

£80 for wiper blades, more fool you for paying it. Buy and fit yourself, it ain’t rocket science!

Fortunately I have a three year service agreement, paid when I bought my RX, and have one service left. 
Decision time then whether I keep it or hand it back, but , that will depend on other factors, like whether Labour tear the arse out of the motorist, while I love the car, it’s not at any price!

Prices seem to be rising as dealer franchises labour rates are going up.  My local one charges close on £120/hr now.

£120ph ?, who do they think they are Vets or Dentists 

To the OP the service includes the spark plug change and they are not cheap or easy to get to.

yep, was told by service dept that next year the prices will go up by £80
