When we ordered the LBX in January, we were given a deal which included a deposit contribution and 2 free services. The service plan has arrived with only 1 free service. I have questioned this and have been told that I must be mistaken, which I am not. Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks

Obviously very hard to prove without an independent witness or perhaps an initial email confirming the deal.

Failing this the Sales Staff will simply argue that it’s a ‘misunderstanding’ and - perhaps - that they only ever offer one free service anyway.

So it really depends on how strongly you feel about it.  You’ve waited this long for the car so you might feel that rather than start all over again. you’ll take the one free service and then find a different Lexus dealer for subsequent services.  Frankly, that sounds the best course.

Ultimately, you can stand on a Point of Principle and cancel the order from the current Dealer on the basis that they are in Breach of Contract and find another Dealer, although you may have a battle over any deposit you paid.

For the cost of a minor service, I’d just accept it and not deal with them again.  And in future remember that verbal contracts are not worth the paper they’re written on - so confirm every discussion in writing!

PS.  Isn’t the first Service free anyway?  So you could clarify that as the first service is free, it’s the second service that will now also be offered free.  Could be a face-saving response for them to clarify the ‘misunderstanding’!

The LBX launch offer was one free service for first 500 orders.

Unless you have some way to prove the two free services, I don’t think there’s anything you can do - other than walk away and not purchase. However, as the LBX is somewhat in demand, I don’t think the dealer will be too worried about this.

I ordered my LBX On-Line in January and ,as Al states, qualified for a free service which Lexus have now confirmed in a letter.

Obviously ,your Dealer made a mistake @ the time.

Thanks for your reply. We have the car (since June) and love it! I do have it in an email exchange with the dealer...as it was a deal that Bolton was doing as part of a launch weekend in January which included a £1000 deposit contribution and 2 free services. I just wondered if anyone else had the same issue with the service plan people. I will be forwarding the email thread to them, so we will see what happens.

I was offered a 3 year service plan and first MOT by a manager at Lexus Glasgow, but it seems they have now revoked this deal.

This seems to happen fairly regularly which is not good.

Not sure if "sales people" are the problem.

Seems a few people have been duped

You need to pick this up with Lexus Bolton, not the service plan team (who are a third party and trade under the Lexus name).
