Hello guys, I am making my first post here as I need advice. About a week ago my 2009 GS450H started leaking coolant. This was followed by the temperature gauge rising to the red hot zone when accelerating. I contacted my local garages including Kwik-fit and they advised me to take the car to lexus dealership which I have done.

Lexus has said that the radiator needs changing and is the cause of the coolant leak and overheating. They have quoted just over £1,000 as the radiator cost. brake pads and discs also need changing at about £400. I absolutely love my car and have spent a lot changing recently the front shocks. I can't afford to change the radiator and brakes at lexus dealership. I am local to Nottinghamshire and would like advice where I can get my car sorted for cheaper. Pls help

Have you tried Dave at Lex Tek in Sheffield? He was always very good with my LS.

Thanks I have contacted Lex Tek. They unfortunately do not have availability until about three weeks later. The car is undrivable at this point as it overheats very quickly so I am looking to fix it as soon as possible

There is a GS450h being broken in stapleford nottingham, on eBay. There is a comparability checker on eBay to see if the part should fit yours.£79.98 or best offer. The car has a smashed rear window, which could explain reason for breaking. A local garage should fit this I imagine. It is a risky solution in that it may leak.

I can't seem to find the one. Are you able to link me? If the rules allow eBay links?

I might be too late to this, but my previous GS450h (2008) developed leaks in both radiator and AC exchanger. Lexus repair prices made the car unviable. I looked on eBay for replacements, of which I found many, and cheap, but none were described sufficiently accurately to convince me they'd fit. So I asked my local garage to source the parts direct from Lexus and fit - which they did at a reasonable cost - seems the parts to trade weren't what Lexus wanted to charge via their workshops.
