I picked up my new LBX last Friday.

On Sunday my son unbuckled a rear seatbelt before fastening it again. My mother-in-law also sat in the rear seat.

After locking the car I got a check rear seat warning in my Lexus Link app. I checked in the back and could see nothing untoward. No-one hiding in there and the seatbelts still fastened.

Tonight I locked the car after driving home from work. No-one had sat in the back today but I got the same warning again tonight. Check rear seat.

Has anyone else had this problem and/or know what the issue is and how to resolve it?

Thanks

David

That is normal, it’s literally is just a message to check rear seats.

This can be turned off in settings via the media screen.

It was one of the first things I did as I never carry rear passengers.

Hi Stepppy.

How did you turn off the Passenger and Rear Seat Reminder ?

I asked Lexus Dealership to turn this off in my LBX. I don't know what they did (and after I quizzed them, they don't know either !!! ) but now I get a message, at every start up and shut down, "Alert is muted    Attention    Check all seats" which is more annoying than the original Rear Seat reminder message.

I would be most grateful for any advice on this.

Hopefully it should be in the same place as my NX as below, it is quite buried in the menu .

Vehicle > Customise > Utility = Rear seat reminder - (Top item)

Hope this helps 😊

I looked this morning and the rear seat reminder isn’t there annoyingly. If you hold the button when it goes off you can mute it.

Just checked the online LBX manual and it looks like you can disable as per below….

I think it’s a B, so maybe dealer only. Not sure why a dealer would need to do it when I can do it so simply from my media unit.

Winder if anyone else has had any joy?

As Stephen and everyone stated sadly not available on the system screen on the LBX as it is on the NX models and above. Also checked my end and no luck. The "beeping" is driving my neighbours mental!

There is a setting on your phone with the Lexus Link+ ap under "Account" and then "Notfication settings" where you can toggle rear seat reminder push notification off to your mobile phone and that is about it. Im hoping its an oversight on Lexus´s behalf and will be fixed with future software updates?

I suppose the easiest thing to do is open a rear door before you lock it. Does the mute stop, the beeping? I’ve not noticed.

All this feed back is great. And I can confirm that it's not in the Utility section of my settings.

Also in the Lexus + App all the Notification setting do is control what notifications are sent to the App. It does not alter settings in the car.

I've taken this up with Lexus dealership as according to manual it's only dealerships that can alter the setting. They were hopeless, didn't have a clue.

So I've referred it to Lexus Customer Care and I'm awaiting response.

Cheers All

Yes, that is correct, no adjustments to the cars interface can be made through the App.

This alert is driving me mad! I sometimes put a bag on the back seat when I go to work. Even when I opened the rear door and took the bag out, I still had the alert on the dash and the alarm beeps 8/9 times after I lock it. Can’t imagine the neighbours liking that if I’m late home. No setting to turn it off on the media interface and holding the button the mute the alert every time I leave the car…really…?

God forbid I stray over the speed limit too. But that’s another topic.

I even had an alert to tell me the window was open the other day. I know. I opened it to let some fresh air in.

if there’s no way of turning off the rear seat alert I may be taking a trip back to the dealership to let them have a go.

According to my earlier post and below screenshot from the manual, it can be turned off, but only by the dealer.

Hope they sort it for you.
