Anybody know what this is? (see pic) Press it Red light comes on and beeps at start, press again and no light, no beep on startup.

Also other problems with this RX400h purchase, drivers seat not heating up, passenger side is fine.

CD does not respond/work, radio displays channels but no sound, tape works fine.

The button is self-explanatory - Parking sensors.

"P" for parking
Lines that indicate a wave - ultrasonic or radar
An object that you'll hit if you don't heed the warning.

P - for Pacemaker

Lines for BPM's

Any thoughts on the other 2 problems?

Driver's seat - check continuity of the fuse with a multimeter rather than just visually, as they can sometimes look alright when they aren't.

If fuse OK then check for voltage at the seat heater connector. If OK check resistance of heater element(s). If no voltage at the heater connector, trace the wiring back towards the fuse, looking for any breaks and/or the point where you register voltage on the meter.

CD/Radio etc - sorry, no idea about this one.

Just pulled the CD/radio and a certain Heath Robinson has been in there, only 2 bolts in place with the top 2 10mm missing. I have attached a few photos that show the 12 pin connector (which connects in the middle of the top connectors) has been spliced to another 12 pin connector, blue and yellow together and green and brown together, there is also a 3A fuse block on the yellow wires.

Any ideas to what has gone on as there is only one place on the back of the CD/radio for a 12 pin connector.

I know what those pictures are ( trying to be polite ) They are a bodge wiring job, a rat's nest, the work of an idiot. Problem is when you see this kind of atrocity it makes you wonder what else the bodger has got his hands on..  Best of luck🐰, prayer might help🙏, maybe a friendly electrician🔌 who knows how to connect wires.    Sorry to be so negative ( as opposed to positive - geddit )🪫

Found the 135 page manual for the head unit, now reaching for a strong drink as it may as well be in Mandarin. Although page 118 shows the connector functions, I don't understand why only 2 pins are shown. Should there be just one 12 pin connector that is fully populated and somebody has done a bypass of 2 pins on another 12 pin connector.

Would be nice if someone has a picture of an unmolested rear connection to the head unit, otherwise all opinions on Heath Robinsons butchery/goal/objective are welcome.

Quick update. Just received a second hand head unit from eBay. The radio/CD and tape are now working but.........

No controls for the Nav, AC, Climate, audio controls on nav screen, when pressing buttons I get "The external system is not connected" and "Check connection of the air conditioner".

I went into the service check mode and only EMV was OK, all the others (Navi, Camera, Radio etc) had NCON, so I cleared all the codes and now there is only EMV OK in the menu. I have checked the fuses, disconnected the Battery and is being fully charged atm.

I can change all the audio controls vol, bal, tre etc from the head unit but most if not all the Nav screens functions are not working.

Anybody else had "The external system is not connected" and "Check connection of the air conditioner" errors?
