Hi Has anyone had this or seen this type of issue. Both rear tyres are 30 months old and done 10000 careful miles. Some internet sites say Don't worry, some say MOT fail, some say MOT pass but keep an eye on it. What do you think?

BTW - the same tyres are on the front wheels too and they are fine.

Well, not seen a reply, so after further investigation I feel that it is OK to ignore the tiny fissures for the time being. This is the best answer that I found on t'internet: -

Here’s Whether Cracked Tires Should Be Replaced

Cracked tires don’t need to be replaced unless the cracks are deep and severe. Most cracks are tiny and don’t require any attention. Check whether they look like thin lines or bigger open cracks. Get new tires every 5 years so your tires don’t crack too much from dry rotting.

I would be on the boat of "MOT pass but keeping an eye on them".

The cracking as it is now looks only superficial, not going into structure of the tyre, modern tyres often have multiple different compounds in the structure of them which may wear at different rates and there may be some superficial separation. Obviously, it is quite disappointing that Michelin tyres that costs so much and could last probably 30k miles are already cracking after just 10k. Perhaps check with Michelin as well, not saying they will fund replacement, but worth a shot.
