Due to the hot weather today I tried the Lexus link+ remote control climate option  on the app to cool the car down before I went out in it and to be honest after a slow start with the app contacting the car and then starting the climate control it started to cool the car down to the 19 degrees that I had set it at, although it only does this for 20mins I suppose to save Battery life.

I let it run for about 5mins and was pleasantly surprised how cool the car was inside although I don’t think I would use it too often worrying about the Battery life I’d rather the car started then be cool inside.

Lucky you.  I used to be able to do this on my 1 year old UX, but the option has disappeared and Lexus are no help.  Might be to do with the recent Canbus security problems on some models - hopefully the LBX isn't affected.

It actually puts the car in READY mode so there’s no issue with the 12v Battery when you use this feature. I did the same today as it’s pretty hot out there!

Thanks for reply I actually done it again this afternoon and left it for a good 10mins and found the engine running on my driveway so no need to worry about the Battery drain.

You are all so lucky to have the feature, as it is not allowed in Austria, Lexus and Toyota do not offer this feature on any Hybrid or petrol models on our Lexus Link+ app. Only full EV´s are allowed to have the climate option.

Is the vehicle still locked whilst this is occurring?

There is an explicit law in Austria that prevents it. It is a somewhat grey area in the UK - whilst Lexus keep the vehicle locked and only allow the use for a short time to prevent noise pollution laws being triggered, you can be prosecuted for leaving a vehicle with an engine running unattended on a public road.

Thanks Colin yes I read up about it. Found it really interesting that Austria seems to be the only EU country I could see that has this regulation. So for those who don't, enjoy it while you can 🙂

My App keeps asking me to sign in yet makes no difference to the interaction with the car.

When the Link was out last week My ca r operated normally but I found My Personnel Preferences were altered.

Moving to Park suddenly did not Open doors.
