AC Pressure Sensor / Switch

Recommended Posts

Hi, hoping i can get some help with this .
having issues with air con not working .
took to a dedicated AC mechanic. They said it looks like a problem with pressure valve / switch.
lexus charge over £300 for this , but I was able to find one on autdodoc at a much better price .
looks like it should be easy to replace …. If i could find where it’s located !
can anyone help me ? Picture would be awesome.

Follow the air con pipes it won't be far from the air con radiator condenser. Look for the high pressure & low pressure port.

As soon as you loosen it though you will loose all the refrigerant.

Your best option is to buy the sensor & get an AIR CON specialist to remove the refrigerant fit the sensor & top it back up regas as necessary.

Look on eBay you can source the part approx £56

Literally just done mine. Paid 23 quid for a Denso sensor from eBay and got a garage to remove the gas. You definitely need to remove the gas as the mechanic thought you could without as believed the sensor had a valve on it, which it didn't... Apart from the initial regas as thought that was the problem, it didn't cost me anything else. AC is working lovely now and the pump is much quieter running!

I got mine for 23 quid as well but need to get it fitted and regassed. Been trying to get hold of Dave at lex-tek for a little while to no avail. Did yours come up with the open circuit on the ac error when you did a OBD check? Thanks

Little update on my eBay sensor. It appears to be playing up today. Air con is constantly starting and stopping, and with the laptop attached I can see it flashing up the B1423 error code, however it's not recording the error this time. Does anyone know what sort of resistance loads I should be seeing on the pressure sensor? To add the sensor was working OK to start with, but hasn't lasted a week. It's supposed to be a genuine Denso sensor as well.... Not impressed so far...

Ordered a Denso part from eBay? Are you sure its a genuine part. & have you had the air con regassed?

Mine also comes on & off frequently its more noticeable when Idle, works fine though. I visited Lexus recently for AC recharge they didn't flag it as a problem.

It would be interesting to know if others also experience similar?

@Notamech can you confirm pls? :wink3:

It has Denso stamped on the side of the sensor. The eBay site states they only use genuine parts. Been in contact with them to explain the situation, so far so good.

I know the pump runs for a bit then turns off, but mines not doing that at all, it barely gets the ac condenser fan spinning before turning off... Plus each time it does that I can see the error B1423 flash up briefly on techstream...
