HELP PLEASE! NX Lexus Roof bars

Is there a set way of being able to lock the roof bars onto the roof rails. I have located them in the holes and tightened until they click. But I can NOT for the life of me get the covers to lock.

 

I must be missing something as I can't lock any of the four!

DUMB! DUMB!   I have now figured out what I was doing wrong! The lock was in the wrong position! The lock must be horizontal then the key turned clockwise to lock!

A whole hour putting on and taking off the roof bars!  Relief!

The moral of this story is:-

Fit the roof boot a week before you leave - NOT ON THE DAY!
