Hi All,

Just trying to dream up ways to make my fuel consumption even worse and came up with the idea of a roof box.  Unfortunately, our NX has a panoramic roof with no roof bar fittings.  Has anyone managed to find some decent looking roof bars that clamp onto the roof / inside door tops?  I used to have an A8 that used this system, but there were bosses to hold the bars in place. Obviously, the NX has none....

Any help appreciated. I've scoured the various manufacturer sites to see if there's an obvious solution and been to Halfords, but unfortunately the staff at my local are all on YOP schemes or the modern equivalent!

Thanks

Hi Chris.

I have OEM ones for the NX 350h with a panoramic roof. These slot into 4 slots in the roof that are accessed by levering up plastic covers.

Does the old NX not have the same system? Perhaps ask the dealer?

Hi - it doesn't, unfortunately. It's suboptimal, but Thule made roof bar adapters for the 300h glass roofed car but discontinued them.

I found some, however, and now I've secured mine the part number is Thule 141768 and they have some here: https://www.pfjones.co.uk

£49.99 then you need the appropriate Thule feet, but there's an excellent specialist shop in Tonbridge run by two Gen X guys who really know their stuff, so I'm going to use them to get those parts.

Hope this is useful to someone...

Glad you are sorted.

I had the Thule feet and adapters for my UX but then they were no use when I got the NX so I sold them.

Scrap my last post. Woke up to an email from PF Jones this morning saying that they were obsolete and Thule were being vague about a replacement.

Damn. Not happy. When we bought this car a few weeks ago the dealer offered to give me a discount on a roof rack.  Looks like the discount was 100% !!!

I'm also looking for roof bars for my 350h with panoramic roof. I have Thule mounts and bars for previous Hondas but they are rail based. Hoping to re-use the bars though. I think these may fit but not sure: Thule 754002 Rapid System.

Anyway thanks Chris for the info on the Yakima roof bars. Have you gone ahead with that and what's your opinion? Many thanks.

I had the Thule bars and rail feet on my UX but when I got my NX with panoramic roof in Feb 2022 Thule told me it could be at least 6 months before they had a set for the new NX.

I bought the Lexus ones and have been very happy - see photo below.

Look good 👍. My bad, I have the NX300h without roof bars and a pano roof so I need the Thule feet that clamp over the top of the door frame. As I say, I think the Thule 754 feet in the 754002 Rapid system should work but not sure. Anyone tried that? I may go for the Yakimas however...
