C1466 REAR RIGHT WHEEL SPEED SENSOR

On my 2012 CT 200H all the warning lights on in the dash when driving and it gives this error code when doing diagnosics

Car seems to drive fine , i dont notice any difference.

So i go to replace the part and can buy the part on line from between £22 to £40 

But Lexus dealership tell me that

I am afraid the rear speed sensor is not a part that can be purchased individually.

 

The speed sensor is a component of the rear hub and bearing assembly - this would be £262.16 including VAT for a replacement.

Is this correct or how come so different

As per the official repair manual:

The rear speed sensor is a component of the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. If the rear speed sensor malfunctions, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

 

Not sure if the parts you are referring to are just the sensor wire.

You can get aftermarket rear hubs which are much cheaper than a Lexus genuine part. e.g.:

Ideally you should correctly diagnose if the wire or sensor is at fault though, rather than just replacing one to see if it fixes the issue.

Thats great help to me and the link , even if i replace both i dont mind too much now , 

The prices i was getting for the hub alone was frightening me , that is some serious difference in price from main dealer to the autodoc

I will get both checked by my garage and determine which one it is ,
