2017 RX450h F Sport - rear shock absorbers replacement

Recommended Posts

Time has come for my rear shock absorbers to be changed.
They are not 100% gone but I m happy to replace them as I have some ideas.

While I love the F Sport models especially the seats (I couldn’t get on with the softer seats in the other trims)  I not a big fan of the stiffer suspension, let alone it costs 1k per corner (rear) and about £500 per corner (fronts) so I read on some American forums that many RX gen4 owners replace these with Bilstein B6 or the ones from the Toyota Highlander.

Apparently they end with a way more comfortable car.

My question is, has anyone changed the rear shocks so far on their RX (especially on the F Sport or Premier/ Takumi which comes as standard with AVS).

OR if I were to put OEM shocks from the models without AVS suspension, would I end up with a light on the dash? My previous RX without AVS was way more comfortable and I couldn’t really say it handled way worse than the F Sport (maybe because I just don’t push the car to the limits) but I can certainly feel every road imperfection in the F Sport.

Maybe you know someone who is specialised in suspension tunning or so, anywhere around UK. Don’t mind travelling as long as it’s worth it.
