Killing a bit of time last night I used a combination of Midjourney Ai and photoshop to come up with this.

I always liked an estate (or wagon/shooting brake if you prefer) and this just ticks all the boxes for me.

Dear Santa....  🙂

That is a Lexus I would love to see, would the storage have proper straps to stop the wheelbarrow flying about on the way to the allotment for a spot of muck spreading.

I do not have any gun dogs who could sit on the tail of 'the shooting brake' but a wheelbarrow I do have🤣

I’d like to view it with the boot lid / rear window down 😄

Brian ……. Can your skills at Ai do that ?

Photoshop maybe, Ai would most likely draw an extra window in or have something growing out of it 🤣

Another go at a 430 estate - I don't hate it....

I know what you mean, but I always felt the LS experience was in the car and the external looks were a little bit secondary.

I like the 400 and 460 from outside (not so much the 430), but prefer the 430 interior for looks but the 400 interior for the feel of space, its odd how a car tickles the 'like factor' in different ways.

Wonderful render. Shame estates are a dying breed.

If you squint a bit Mazda have done it for you already :) get the petrol one and you are sorted.

The Mazda is surely the best looking estate by far. My brother has one, a lovely looking thing, especially in red.

Was told at a Lexus dealer a while back estates and saloons a thing of the past, everyone wants a UV of some sort.

I can certainly understand an SUV being popular with someone of my advancing years. Getting in and out is just a matter of sliding across rather than having to hoist yourself up! I would have gone for an RX but the Volvo XC just had the bigger (and less sloping) rear, which I need for our very tall dog.

At this Old Biys advancing years I’m finding getting up into an SUV slightly ( very ) challenging ……. Out is easy of course …….. and the dog ( alias the gf ) finds it similar too these days ……..

If they made a Ls400 estate then that would be admirable …….. but why go backwards when they can leap forwards with silly electronic wizadry that’s always beneficial 🤣😂

The first image, Brian's car, if I had that when I was younger then I'd put a mattress in the back and use it to tour round the north of Scotland .... I'm too old for any fun like that now, of course!

Hahahaha …….. when I was very much younger we never worried about a mattress to enjoy ourselves and our adventures ……. But as we grew older, into our late 20’s then more comfort became useful  😂🤣

Tried that 44 years ago in a Ford Escort Mk 3 on a weeks hols in North Wales.  Ended up doing B&B towards the end, so at least me and the girlfriend could get a good night kip before trekking up mountains.

B&B?  Luxury!  Sleeping in my Ford Anglia was never really a possibility, so it tended to be a tent and thin foam mattress.  I've always been a bit cheap!

Slept in a mk1 ford escort beside a beach as it was a lot more comfortable than the tent we had. Well, when I say "slept" more like tried to. Non reclining seats didn't help as did the fact the back seat was already taken by my mate who snored like a fog horn all night. That was my first and last attempt at any sort of rough camping.

Slept in the back of Sunbeam Rapier many years back, went to the Top Rank had a bit too much and back seat of the Sunbeam was okay.

Sunbeam - not sure if this was the car?   It was this colour and had the overdrive and the funny little wind down rear lights and the valve radio.

And

Just remembered about 10 years ago did a stint of kipping on back seat of LS400, up in Lancs to then get up at 05:30 to a bit of early Bbird watching at Leighton Moss. Was not so bad - better than a tent (probably)

Remembering a group of us teen lads from school went to Brighton beach one night  and we all kipped down in my 1965 Mk1 Cortina ….. GGK584C ( was it ? )  ……. about 100 years back, well 56 years or so 😄

Never did it after that 😂

I rode my Yamaha RD50 220kms to a bike rally in Germany when I was 17, with a tent and a weekends worth of clothes on the rear seat/luggage rack and in my rucksack.
When I arrived the guy at the gate told me I was in the wrong place. I asked if it was the Bitburg MC Rally and he confirmed it was.
It then dawned on him how far I had ridden to get to their Rally,.... on a 50cc bike that maxxed out at 70kph,.... so he gave me a beer. 😁
The tale spread and I didn't buy a single beer all weekend. 🍺🍺

Didn't pass my car test until I was 33, so never have slept in car.

I always preferred the look of estate cars, but not keen that half-back style (half-estate, half-hatchback).
My Dad had a few. Volvo 145, Ford Granada 2.8, Audi A6 Avant.
My dream would be an Aston Martin Lagonda Estate

Hahahaha …….. I’m thinking to buy ( at auction in a couple of weeks ) a 1947 Mk1V  Bentley Shooting-Brake ……. my nephew will keep it “ for us “ at his, nr. Newmarket ( alongside my 1932 Triumph )

Original owner Chairman of Plessey and the “ estate “ body crafted on a couple of years after …….. not viewed it yet …… bit of a drag to there tho’

Let’s see …… I could sleep in that for sure ……. My Butler would need to be on hand 🤣

Oh my …… the auction estimate for “ my “ 1947 Bentley shooting-brake at £5k - 7k has just been slightly exceeded

She’s just sold at £15k      10 mins back

Was hoping it might have just not sold and I’d have picked it up for maybe that £5k

Cest la vie

2 x. Ls400s for me forever eh 😂
