But there's a 22 Zillion pound black hole and it was a difficult decision and it's not their fault and they were forced to do it even though they didn't want to, but they had to do it and some pensioners have zillions of pounds and live in big houses with dogs and things and what about the young people who can't afford a shed in London and all those wealthy expat pensioners ...   zzzz .....zzz something's gone wrong, my head hurts, I can't go on. Thank God for that!  NURSE!!!

Let me help straighten this out for you. The debt is owed by the country. The Labour govt think it is their job to handle this by reapportioning wealth from older to younger people so those younger people can pay down the debt in the future. Of course if one thinks that the older people pass their wealth to those younger people via existing channels then you might also think that the Labour govt need not interfere at all. See it is quite simple unless you are a Labour politicans suffering from dyscalrulia.

Er…dyscalculia?

Apart from typo, completely agree.  Interesting that the Union motion to reinstate WFA was overwhelmingly - and embarrassingly - carried at the end of the Conference.

And immediately dismissed by the Ministers who had remained behind.  Considering that some Unions are still talking of strike action despite being awarded pay increases by their new friends in Government, I can see this relationship becoming increasingly fractious.

On the other hand, I think there was broad approval for Starmer’s commitment to return all the sausages from Gaza..

This nothing to do with "posh". This is a reflection of her personna and the way she reacts to others presumably when the subject is contentious.

But neither side are allowed sausages nor Prawn butties. Not Kosher. Unless they are those vegan things that taste a bit like damp cardboard?🤔🦞

You need to understand sir Keir was always a conservative he has never been a labour man. This book will explain about the many thousands of deaths under the conservative party and now to be in going forward with the so-called Labour Party.

Most people don't understand the intentions of others they fail to see that the person they vote for and as always make a bad choice.

Only Jeremy Corbyn and those like himself are true labour, the rest are fake and yet people still voted for fake ness. It's not a UK thing but to keep getting it wrong kills many people.

North Korea and Russia would like a word about your position that “true socialism has never been tried!”.

What a brilliant link Len! Pity I don't live in London 🙁.. One firm that does deliver nationwide is, The Port of Lancaster Smokehouse. Fantastic array of smoked fish and meats. I also buy from Yorkshirehandmadepies, glorious selection of proper pies. I split with friends to get free delivery which makes them both highly affordable 🍻

You may change your opinion on Starmer when you watch Peter Hitchens analysis going back many years ☹️👍

Sir Keir is someone who constantly modifies his opinions in an effort to obtain an advantage when it's needed. What you see in Corbyn's life is what you get; he has never wavered.

So highlight of the week for this Labour govt is they lost the vote with their membership on the WFA. What can you take from that? Clearly this listening govt (they will tell you they are at some point) not only don't care about the OAP voters and the half a million of them who signed the petition , they don't much care what theirown members think either !!

Personally, I think they have failed what I would call the moral decency test.

From the Sage Journals (this sounds familiar,)
"The widespread scepticism towards the authenticity of Corbyn’s espoused position meant that both Leavers and Remainers were reported to distrust him. The Guardian (21 May 2019) reported that ‘none of us believe he’s truly on our side’. The Sun (8 December 2019) ran an article describing Corbyn as a ‘spineless hypocrite on Brexit’. Nick Cohen, writing in The Guardian (1 June 2019), noted that ‘voters demand that their leaders are authentic, especially voters as angry as Britain’s Remainers’, and therefore, if Corbyn began campaigning for Remain, ‘few would believe him’. The Guardian (17 May 2019) asked, in an ironic tone, whether it was because Corbyn ‘likes stories so much that Labour has two totally contradictory ones to tell people for the European elections?’ A commentary in the Daily Telegraph (28 May 2019) also posed the question in terms of dishonesty by asking whether his supporters would still view him as authentic after ‘being forced into a position [on Brexit] in which he clearly does not believe?’ The Times (8 February 2019) claimed that Labour MPs did not believe his Remain proclamations and knew ‘deep down that they are trapped in a party LED by a man with unconscionable views on foreign policy who is perfectly happy to leave the EU’.

While these commentators saw Corbyn as a Leave supporter putting on an inauthentic pretence as a Remainer, other commentators thought he lacked any clear position at all. The Daily Mail (24 August 2019) claimed that Corbyn did not ‘show leadership’ because he did not actually know what he believed in: ‘He needs to work out what he stands for and abide by it. If he believes in Brexit, he should say so. If he supports Remain, he should say so’."
