LC standard scissor jack

Recommended Posts

Apologies in advance, I really have no luck using the search option here 😞

Bit confused.

Read a post with diagrams recently which stated don't use a jack on the four corners, jack in centre front and diff rear or chassis damage will occur.

Lifted the cover inside my boot yesterday and found a scissor jack, read the Lexus LC manual which shows where the four jacking points are ???

so are u ever personally likely to change a wheel  ?  surely you'd leave all that to a garage / professional tyre place ?

Scissor jack seems a little superfluous to this car's needs maybe !

You can use a jack on the seam welds of the sills, there are arrows that point to the correct placement. As for the other jacking points then you can definitely use the centre of the diff paying attention you place where it should be obvious. As for the engine jack point, then I believe there is indeed one but I've never been inclined to crawl under to find it. Most likely somewhere near the engine/bell housing.

Fine to use the scissor jack to lift one wheel off the ground to remove. As you say, they supply a jack and the procedure is in the manual.

If you have a suitable trolley jack then you can use the centre points to lift two wheels.

Over the years Ive had wheels on n off for numerous reasons, like to maintain myself. Although I do get cars serviced too. Eg why pay 1000's to have a set of pads and discs fitted when it's a piece of cake to diy..

Can't see why they's supply a jack and instructions how to use it if it's going to twist your car 🥴

I used to work at Halfords when I was 19-20 and remember a guy jacking up a PT Cruiser.  Opened the front door with one wheel in the air and cracked the windscreen!!

A truly terrible car, though if I remember correctly it had really comfy and scorching heated seats.  Funny how as you get older you appreciate different things!
