Sorry Ronnie W Hodgekinson but not sure how to "select" hot air without using the air con button. As far as I can see there are no set  buttons to press for heater? When I used to defrost windscreen it usually sent hot air in that direction. I just tried this and only same outside temperature air comes out even when the engine is hot as it does when cold is chosen. As far as the engine revs dropping when the air con is turned on, no it doesn't change, it used to be when I stop the engine stopped while in traffic, if I then turned the air con on the engine would usually start up, it doesn't do that now. I have found a company who specialises in air con and going to try to get an appointment booked to get them to go through a check up. Finger crossed.

Regards

Well you learn something each day. Air con problem solved, it was all down to the body repairers disconnecting the Battery. It unset all the settings in the car. I remember having to re set the seat, mirrors and lights. Took it to the specialist who ran a check, all sound, then went to the menu, climate control and there it was SWITCHED OFF!!!. Cost me £20 a bargain at double, I would recommend this company. Anyone in my area "Mark4 Air con" Slough.

Thanks to all who responded, one for the files

I thought it may be something like that I have just been out to my car to check on the climate Settings  Because i too thought  that as got to be the problem if you cannot change the Temp so you beat me to it.

Anyway i am glad you got it sorted  but you ought to have a look at the climate settings on that page there is a wealth of options ( if you have 3 Zone and Nano)

I have had this Lexus for about 3 years but I am still finding things it can do. All that worry about the compressor and £3500 disappeared in a flash. I did have a look and found you can increase the high temperature more than it had originally been set at, mind you the book is quite thick so perhaps some winter reading for the future.

Regards to all
