Aftermarket stereo for 2005 IS200

Hello! I'm a new lexus owner from Aus, just picked up my IS200 a few weeks ago as a first car. Full service history, 1 owner, I couldn't pass it up.

Since the disc player wasn't working we took it straight to repco to try and get the parts to install an aftermarket stereo. The first store sent us to multiple different repco branches only to be told that the installation was way too complicated and that we shouldn't even try doing it ourselves because we'd mess it up, and said it would cost $2k+ to get someone to install it for us. Just wanted some thoughts about this from other lexus owners, since I don't think what theyre saying is true. I'm aware that it would need an amp bypass, the fascia and new stereo, but maybe I'm missing something. Anything would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)
