Can IS250 facelift use IS220D prefacelift bumpers?

Recommended Posts

Hi all, just wanted to ask if anyone knows if I can replace my IS250 facelift’s front bumper with one of IS220d prefacelift’s? I probs read it somewhere that the rear bumpers of IS250 and IS220d are different regardless of facelift or not…

I damaged my front bumper and I found a similar colour one from a is220d pre breaking. My car is a 59 plate and the breaking car is 55 plate… not sure if my assumptions of facelifts are correct as I am a newbie. Thanks in advance

I believe it should be possible but you would also need to change the grille to an 05-09 one.

Same goes for the lower grille if it doesn't come with the bumper.

2009 isn't a facelift... It is sort of "half-lift", some subtle differences, indicators on mirrors, different tail lights, removal of indicators from fenders... things like that.

Point is - the bumper between 2005 and 2009 cars are the same, as long as they are same trim - SE-L and few other will have headlight washers, others don't. The new front bumpers only came around 2011 (i.e. the bumper in John's picture). They still fit, but as John said you will need everything then - different grille, different fog lights etc.

Also IS220d rear bumper fits IS250, difference is 2 exhaust cut-outs vs 1 cut out. The bumper itself fits, but obviously you either need to modify it for exhaust or it may rub.

The bumper is also slightly different on what you call a "half-lift" car. Biggest physical difference is that it's all one piece instead of having a separate removable lip like on the earliest examples.

The grilles are also a slightly different shape, so OP's grille won't fit the older 220d bumper. I believe the fogs are the same though, until they changed to the round ones on the newest bumper variant.
