Rear collision warning

Recommended Posts

I have a 2023 NX 450h+. A couple of days ago a car nearly ran into the back of us (very close!) The NX made a rapid clicking noise which sounded like a relay and I assumed it was the rear hazards flashing? A message came up something along the lines of “vehicle approaching from rear” Can’t find anything in the manual related to this, anyone else seen this?

Rear cross traffic alert might have picked it up?

I think that only activates when the car is in reverse

I occasionally get audible alerts from cars approaching from behind too quickly, e.g. at roundabouts or when have waited to turn down a side road and have just moved off.  I;m not aware if the hazards have gone off.

My XC40, previous car, used to slam on the brakes if it detected a big undulation in the road. Rather unnerving 🤪

Mine has it (2022) I wondered what was going on the first time it happened but I reckon it woke up the van driver rapidly approaching me!

I had the same thing happen in my NX 350h whilst stationary at traffic lights on a dual carriageway. It was the hazard lights flashing quickly because a car in the adjacent lane approached very rapidly and only just managed to avoid jumping the lights.
