2009 LS600hL RSR - considering selling

Recommended Posts

Hello all

Last October I bought myself a black 2009 LS600hL RSR with the cream leather - with the intention of wafting around in a luxury uber saloon for 6-12 months, to scratch that itch.  I now have a baby on the way which is focussing the mind on how practical the car will really be considering the smaller boot size and large rear doors being awkward in carparks with the baby seat.  I've enjoyed my time with it greatly which included a weekend roadtrip to Germany - but as time goes on find that nagging voice on my shoulder getting louder saying its time to move on to experience something else equally as interesting. May be time to try a fast estate car...

The car is low mileage (now at 82k) and in good condition - especially the interior which is almost like new even with some of the factory plastic wrap still found on door sills and the leather tag still on the front passenger seat. Full Lexus service history from new which is 15 services, last one in my ownership just a month ago from FRF Lexus Cardiff, who gave it a full bill of health and passed hybrid health check.  2 previous owners to me with the first owner keeping it for 11 years. Exterior does have some minor age related light scratches here and there but nothing you would notice without really looking for it. Wheels show minimal kerb marks. Everything electrical inside works and no warning lights.  MOT runs out in October but I would be happy to put a new one on it ready for sale. It has a very clean MOT history with only 4 advisories in its life - 3 of which encountered in 2016 for tyres worn close to limit / most recent one 2021 for ball joint dust cover leaking (Lexus confirmed ball joints were replaced in that year).  It has a private reg number on it which would stay with the car.

There's not much to go on looking online as so few of these cars in this spec come up for sale, but I'm thinking £ 14k would be a reasonable asking price.  Does that seem about right?  Am I a fool for even thinking of selling it?!

Thanks

Yes  ............  you're nuts selling her, especially with the front Ball Joints having been done in 2021  ...  is that so ?

BUT at 15 years young who knows what's around the corner and especially as they can go on for stellar miles, nigh on 300k I'm hearing  👍

Pricewise I have absolutely zero idea but ,

Good Luck with whatever you decide going forward

Hi Malc, yes apparently so. I called Lexus when i was looking to buy the car to ask about its maintenance history and they confirmed it had visited them in 2021 for front ball joints, even though i dont have an invoice in its history for that. Corresponds to the mot history though and its been up on the ramp at my local garage recently who confirmed drop links, ball joints etc all look mint.
