Loss of power issues

Recommended Posts

Hi we bought our LBX in June and within two weeks we noticed a lack of power in acceleration when entering motorway. Also a constant revving of engine. No warning lights but checked out at garage with no resolution. Just back from holiday and it’s done the same again but added to this real struggle going uphill - at one point couldn’t accelerate above 19mph. Haven’t touched cruise control to limit speed. Intermittent juddering and sounds like a tractor! Garage can find nothing. Anyone else had any issues?

You might not have used the cruise control but does the LBX have a seed limiter? If so maybe this has been inadvertently engaged?

Hi thanks for your reply but not speed limiter either. It’s just annoying not to get to bottom of issue. Looked into everything but as a new model Lexus are stumped too. Cheers

The speed limiter will let you over-ride it when you go to full throttle. I think the throtle is drive by wire, sounds like a fault could be in that area. Unusual for no faults recorded though.

We haven’t actually put the car on the speed limiter or cruise control. It’s very strange. The car is very noisy just when driving normally. Said to garage the problem is likened to a manual car that has a slipped clutch only way to describe it. We’ve had two courtesy hybrid cars and they have run like a dream. Thanks for your response though

Any Update on this power issue?

No we got nowhere and still have the same issues. However after a formal complaint to Lexus the Director has agreed for us to get a new car. Ordered coming in September. Thanks to all for your help and advice.
