CHECK HYBRID SYSTEM

When driving for over 1 hour on the motorway so averaging 70 mph the above notice comes up on my dash.

I've had it in to Lexus for diagnostics 3 times but they are unsure what it could be.  

Even though it has the notice the car is running fine unless I go too far without stopping say overnight and then its ok again but still with the sign showing.

Has anyone else had this problem and do you have any ideas?

not exactly the same, but have the 'check hybrid light' on a 2010 RX 450h. Had it diagnosed via lexus as P2602 (hybrid transmission oil pump needs replacing). Not had it repaired yet though, the lights been on for a few months now.

Wow!

That will be eyewateringly expensive to repair if it finally gives up and causes other damage as well.

The "Check Hybrid System" message in and of itself really means nothing because there are literally hundreds of things that could trigger it. You need to have the OBD codes read because they give you a starting point and a direction to go in to do further testing.

Of course, Lexus should have done this already but it would do no harm to check with them and ask if any OBD codes have been flagged, and if so, which ones.
