Looking for advice for the Xtrons 10.1" Android headunit

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

I have a Lexus IS200D (2011) which I bought with a satnav unit (below) and recently bought and have installed an Xtrons 10.1" Android headunit  (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/156085107232) which I installed with their XTRONS AK/PSP10ISL/MOST (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334223191008) ISO harness

All seems okay so far. The head unit is installed, turns on, but I'm now trying to just complete the puzzle and I'm hoping some here might have gone through the same experience.

Things that don't work;

- CD Player unit (The AK/PSP10ISL/MOST doesn't seem to have a way to connect to it)
- Getting climate controls is a choice between a nice UI which works for everything but no Next/Prev steering wheel controls, or a janky UI where windscreen option doesn't work, but the steering wheel Next/Prev controls do work
- The stock rear view camera (Uses the Toyota LVDS connector)
- Rear speakers behind the rear seats
- USB port that's in the compartment between passenger and driver seat

Now, tackling one thing at a time, for the USB port at least, am I right in thinking that the connection (below) is a USB-TY2? If so, I did have a scout but can't seem to find anywhere to pick up an adapter to plug it into a standard USB A apart from one seller in the US where the shipping is more than the part, so can anyone recommend somewhere to buy one?

And does anyone have any experience tackling the other issues mentioned above? I'd love to hear what your solutions were

Much appreciated!

Have you gone in the settings (password protected menu) and selected the correct vehicle so the HVAC UI is working? I've had funny issues until I did that.

Ive had this head unit so can advise on all of the following;

You need a special firmware from Xtrons for correct air con controls to include pollen filter, you can message me and I can email it to you. CD Player will never work with the fibre optic box configuration and the rear camera will not work unless you either splice the original connections or replace it with an aftermarket one. I ended up replacing it with an aftermarket one and luckily enough I've had a custom 3d printed bracket made for the Lexus 2IS reverse cameras so you can get a perfect placement and fit. I've also got a wiring diagram for how to correctly wire this up if you require this.  USB Port will require a special USB retention cable that I think the Toyota landcrjuiser uses as well as a USB extension cable in general. Rear speakers I never noticed issues but it depends on the CANBUS you use as that can give you access to the OEM mark Levinson stereo settings. There is only one correct can bus for facelift models the out of the box can bus wont have steering wheel controls working but with a fibre optic box you can very easily hardwire all steering wheel controls to work to your liking. Itll be wroth dropping me a private message so I can assist you with all of this.

@H3XME I must have cycled through every Lexus variation in the CAM selection menu but always ends up with A: no steering wheel next/prev controls and nice UI, or B: Working steering wheel controls, but janky half-working UI

@McShmoopy Thanks for the offer, I've sent you a message
