Hi folks, I recently purchased a 2010 IS250 F-Sport. My second Lexus!

I was wondering if anyone had a list of any interesting quirks or features of this model?

If you want “quirks” check out JDM imports, mine has a “Fender pole, emergency flare holder, ETC card reader system, turn lights and wool seats.

Also speaks to me in Japanese and can only receive Radio 2 on FM. 😀

There is hopefully quite a fat book in the gloves compartment, it lists all the quirks and features... something like 600 page long.

To be fair I can't thing of anything unusual in F-Sport, somewhat unusual for other cars (but all Lexus has this) - pollen removal mode. So check that out and read owners manual... perhaps you can tell us what unusual you found in there.

UK Spec F Sport differed in the following:

  • Boot spoiler
  • 18" Enkei alloys
  • Half leather half alcantara seats
  • ~10mm Lowering springs
  • Aluminium pedals
  • Mesh grille
  • Black headliner

There was a good few optional extras available, just not sure if they were available in the UK. JDM F Sports could have an optional lip kit, exhaust, airbox, 15mm lowering springs, 19" wheels etc.

None available in UK, but airbox standard.

I have recently seen F-Sport rims on fb, rare find to be honest (I believe only 2 sets are in UK), but I just have too many wheels sitting in my garage already. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1517458925844537

Ah, didn't know about the airbox being standard.

Yeah, Matt with IS350 was/is selling his as well. They're not even that light given the spec of them. Heavier than my Supra wheels that are wider.

Yeah - I mean forget doesn't mean much, they may be harder than standard wheels, but not necessarily lighter. Besides Enkei ones and F-Sport from 3rd gen are also forged if I remember right, so it isn't very special.

That said - very light forged wheels on the road is bad idea, on the baby butt smooth track sure, but on the road single pothole and they may crack. Mercs and BMWs have loads of problems with their 19" and 20" wheels as they just crack from use and start leaking air. So I guess Lexus made a right choice here - make the forged to make them tougher, but not too thin and light so that they crack, makes more sense for everyday use.

Steering wheel and shift knob are slightly different too. An F-Sport model has perforated leather instead of smooth.

In fact, a 2010 F-Sport basically has an actual IS-F steering wheel - complete with the "F" logo normally seen on the V8 cars.

The 2011MY facelift wheel got an actual "F-Sport" logo. The updated square one which is still in use today.

So that means, the 2010 IS250 F-Sport has the unique quirk of being the only Lexus car sold with the old-style rectangular F-SPORT emblem on the front wings.

Oh that's some cool details! Didn't know that. Thanks
