Lexus IS300 H

Recommended Posts

When buying a used Lexus IS300 H for private hire, what should I check first? Are there any specific issues to be mindful of?

Thank you

Make sure it has regular service history, they don't have any know reliability issues, but it is premium car and if it goes wrong it isn't cheap to fix. However... again - as long as they are regularly serviced they are reliable.

There are small things, like sticking rear callipers, but here we are talking £200, that is neither here nor there when buying the car. If the car has been regularly serviced it will be good, up-to 10 years/100k miles they are warranted, Battery is warranted up-to 15 years (and 160k miles if I am not mistaken, or maybe unlimited - owners can advise further) as long as hybrid check is done.

Apart of that same applies as on any other car, previous accident damage, lack of maintenance, general conditions, tyres, brakes etc. These cars don't have any particular issues like say BMW 520d with their timing chain issues, or some other cars with head gaskets or turbos etc. IS300h is generally solid car as far as reliability is concerned.

Blimey we're taking over this forum 🤣🤣🤣.

Welcome to the best Lexus forum there is fellow Vlad. I've had 2 is300h and they're a fabulous car. Very reliable. Best to get a car with Full Lexus service history. Keep that history going by taking it to Lexus for servicing. Yes Lexus service costs a little more But you'll get a proper dedicated service and not a 'fix n mend oh that'll do' back street service.

Remember you get what you pay for. Afterall you Need a reliable car for taxiing so look after it and it'll look after you. Plus with a Lexus service you can get a Lexus courtesy car too.

Keep us upto date with your search.
