My 2004 Celsior (aka LS430) has the pull up window blinds fitted and a common failure is the plastic screw posts break and the hooks fall off.

The hooks are attached to the “garnish” or trim and although they can be removed the hooks cannot be purchased individually, you have to buy the complete trim part at around £100.00 a side.

Having 2 broken hooks I decided to try and repair them myself.

I got some slightly longer fixing screws to reach the remains of the screw posts, loosely fitted the screws then filled the hollow section with epoxy resin flush to the top.

Left overnight I removed the screws ( the epoxy had shaped around the screw threads) and refitted them to the trim.

They haven’t fell off yet!

Note the small patch of felt on the hook to prevent rattling, Lexus quality 😀
