Yes that make sense for my Bridgestones, must have been an easy repair as I didn't have a completely flat and didn't damage the walls.

Lucky me!

Lucky indeed, Giuseppe!

It may also be that because it was against Company policy, the mechanic did it FOC.  So it didn’t go through the Company records.

Did you get a receipt for the work?  It might still be worth finding out what caused the air loss and what the mechanic did about it.

But possibly you’re less of a cynic than I am!

😃 when I  get something FOC , couldn't really ask for a receipt! I  did ask for details but the mechanic had already left. Having read Bridgestone policy, I feel at ease. How many levels of cynicism are there?

Well I’m 80, Giuseppe - and I think I’ve just about attained a Black Belt in it.  So still not quite the full article!

I see Costco have £100 off 4 Goodyear tyres 👍

As an update to this I have taken advantage of this, 4 x Vector 4seasons, 235 /55/19's, fully fitted, disposal etc for £125 a corner. 👍🙂

A very sound choice, Phil.  I’ve always liked that tread pattern.

I don’t know if I’ll ever have to replace my Goodyear Eagles,  but these would be a serious contender.  So I’ll be interested to’ know how you get on with them.

Oddly enough I am replacing Eagle Asymmetrics. Three and a half years old but showing some cracking due to lack of use, (about 10k) I am told? Nothing dramatic but with an MOT due in February perhaps just as well.

The cracking in the rubber on tyres is primarily caused by the UV in sunlight over time. Do you leave your car outside or in a garage?

Thanks Malcolm, did not know that. It's kept outside but in shade 🤔. So I can expect the same in three years or so time? Cheers Phil

So I have taken the leap and fitted 4 Michelin CrossClimate 2 on, even though there was life left in my runflats.  I figured might as well have the best tyres on for winter rather than limp on for another 3 months.

I’m curious how long these might last.  I normally used to get 30k from an ordinary car.  I think I got 20k from my Seat SUV.  I watched a YouTube video of an Uber driver who drove the RAV4 Prime say he got 75k, which seems crazy.  The tyre supplier seemed to think around 30k would be good.

What are you guys getting?

Well, for exactly the same reasons, I have just ordered a set of CC2s, but for our 4x4 Suzuki SX4.  They’re to replace the previous set of CrossClimates, which passed the MoT on Friday but are less than the 3mm mark that I generally aim for.

There were some interesting tyre tests on some new contenders, but taking into account the way we (especially MrsT!) drives, the Michelins still seemed to come out best in the sectors that really apply.

Just this very afternoon I ordered and paid for a set of Michelin CC3s in 235/55/R20 size. The best I could get was almost £240 per tyre, fully fitted, so a grand total of £958.

This was from etyres.co.uk and the order qualified for a £50 amazon Voucher because I bought 4 tyres.

I hadn't realised they released a new cross climate tyre.

See this link for cashback from Michelin, hopefully you qualify

I've been using Cross Climate tyres since 2018 on my Subaru Legacy, been perfect for my needs and last around 30k miles.
