Looking to purchase 13 ISF

Recommended Posts

Hi guys I'm looking to purchase my first Lexus, torn up between an ISF and RCF but I think ill miss 4 doors. (currently have B8.5 s4)

Anyway onto the question, I'm strongly considering this "https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202405099528996?sort=relevance&advertising-location=at_cars&make=Lexus&model=IS F&page=1&postcode=NP10 0BE&fromsra".

has anyone here been to view the car and could share a bit of knowledge on if this is a good purchase for the asking price, I'm sure its a little inflated due to low supply and high demand and im willing to eat that cost but just wanna make sure im not being entirely ripped off here.

It seems reasonable the considering the only GSF for sale right now is from a Lexus dealer and is £43,000, with a similar mileage on a 16 plate.

sorry if ive posted this in the wrong place,

thanks all.

Cant comment if its a good “price”. Everything is expensive these days, like FL5 is almost 50k.
Fyi, if you go back to 5 years ago when I got my F, 13 plate isf was selling for 25-28k.

if you need space, i would stretch to the Gsf. It is a lot more comfortable if you do a lot of miles and the roads in your area suck. + i believe it will be warranty for another two years.

rc is my numb imo and access to back seat is a pain if you need it regularly

It certainly looks very good but maybe a tad pricey - don't know. From my experience ( Sept 2012 ISF 60K miles ) check underneath to see what extent of rust. Usually only superficial. Absolutely nothing wrong with mine up to now and runs like new.

History check essential and maybe track down a previous owner if poss. If I had the cash I would consider it - what else of that quality (big discussion  methinks)  etc could you get for £30K?

Seems fair then, only 8 registered and 3 SORN on a 13 plate from what I can tell so I wouldn't expect any depreciation.

I'm not super concerned on rear space, usually use partners car if taking kids out, but yeah the GSF is stunning, dream car for me but £43k is a stretch, it will probably sell before I can budget for it and they don't come up often.

Ill view all 3 probably but at the moment is 13 ISF is the most realistic option

thanks

Welcome, I used to have a B8 RS4. ISF and generally F cars much more special. Out of the lot the ISF is the one to have or the one I prefer. Just make sure to budget for some preventive work, suspension, manifolds, rad, starter motor etc due to age, other than that they are pretty much bomb proof, good to go and better than z Germans!
