Amayama, parts

Hi, so last year I replaced the drivers side inner and outer tie rods on my ls400, bought the parts from lexus dealers.

Now I want replace the passenger side inner tie rod. The drivers side cost me £115, the passenger side is slightly longer so it's a whopping £233, it must be gold plated too.

Anyway, I've looked on Rockauto, there are some delphi tie rods on there, but the inner is made in China and outer is Turkey, so I'm not sure what to do now. Turkey might be okay, but china I'm not too sure about.

If I were to buy then from Amayama, how long do they usually take to arrive?

I have found that although they list the parts as available and provide a delivery time you then after paying tend to get a message saying part of the order is out of stock with no indication of a delivery window.

Last time I placed an order for several parts they had the thermostat but not the O ring seal so I ended up using LPD and cancelling the complete Amayama order.

Also bear in mind that VAT may be applied and the courier’s “ admin” charge.

I just completed an order with amayama a few weeks back.

From initial contact to the package being received, was about 2 weeks in total, maybe slightly longer.

FYI, The parts I bought were £33 (£49 incl EMS shipping), compared to the £120 they would have cost from LPD.

Who actually make suspension parts for Lexus and are Chinese parts really bad or is it hit and miss?

I have used Amayama in times past for all sorts of suspension stuff and the timeframe for delivery  ...............and comparative cost to the Main Stealer .......... has been brilliant

That's about right in my experience and I've bought a lot of stuff from Amayama, but as Steve says it depends on availability and how long it takes for them to get the stuff to their warehouse.
As far as I know - they don't stock the parts themselves, some stuff they may have in stock but in general they don't.
The part you are after - 45504-59025 I think - is £42.29 plus £22.36 shipping cost so £65 in total and I don't think you will incur any duty/import/admin costs.
I normally buy other smaller bits at the same time, small trim pieces, clips, fixings etc that are missing or damaged or you will probably need in the future.
The best value bits to order at the same time from Amayama is stuff like in the examples below:

4945-50012 - SHIM KIT, ANTI SQUEAL, FRONT - £12.96 compared to UK LPD price of £75.85  -  rears are similar
47773-50030 - RETAINER, PAD WEAR INDICATOR - front - just a little clip...... - £1.00 compared to UK LPD price of ................ £14.00

You have to stop yourself getting carried away but being sensible and spending a few more quid on smaller bits won't increase the carriage by much, and maybe not at all depending on what you buy.
