Customer Satisfaction Campaign Recall

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering if any fellow NX owners have had this letter sent to them recently? It's campaign number ZGG35 which involves an 'over the air update' to the remote climate control. The below came through to me through the post this morning:

I must admit, I didn't know Lexus could do such a thing! Very clever indeed.

My only comment on this is that at least it looks like some owners can get their remote climate control to actually work. Mine just says this seven or eight times out of ten... 🤷‍♂️

I wonder if Lexus can give us an over the air update that actually makes it work in the first place, rather than just swirling and eventually timing out...even when you're practically on top of the car...

Yes, my letter arrived today for my RX. Obviously a common software issue across many models that have the new interface.

Hi Gary you just beat me to it, I also got the letter today, but my remote start always started first time.

I've had the letter too and mine has always worked ok so far. Note that the letter says the OTA updates will be rolled out progressively from the 24th June and we won't receive any confirmation when the update has been applied.

Had the same letter for my RX450h+ yesterday. Remote climate control stopped working for me a few months ago so I'll keep checking to see if it's returned.

How will we know that it has been if we don’t get any notification.

We'll know when the head unit requires us to sign in and accept the terms & conditions again continually until we eventually have to reset it 😀

Hi all,

I had my vehicle in at Lexus Edinburgh for an unrelated issue (squeaky boot partition) and the Service Tech performed the OTA update on the car. I assume they have a local version in house and installed it that way.

What I noticed from the update is a new feature called Proactive Driving Assist (PDA). This is disabled by default and can be found inside the shortcut section in the main screen (the section where you can enable/disable other Driving Assistance Settings).

The feature is similar to enabling Adaptive Cruise Control with LTA but at a less intrusive manner. For instance, if the car feels you are getting too close to the car ahead, it will gradually apply the brakes to bring you back to a safe distance. It works great in most circumstances, although it struggles when there is parked cars on the side of the road (similar as to having ACC on).

I found this video in the Lexus YT channel and an article by JD Power which explains it in greater detail.

https://www.jdpower.com/cars/shopping-guides/what-is-proactive-driving-assist-in-a-lexus-or-toyota#:~:text=Proactive Driving Assist uses the, keep the vehicle under control.

There are no other CarPlay/Android Auto update as mentioned by LSFT in Youtube offered OTA or through the service update.

I hope this is helpful!

Proactive Drive Assist was one of the first things I enabled and I love it. It’s kinds of like a smarter version of regenerative braking and I find I use the brake pedal even less than I did before in my Prius.

A small image of a car appears in the instrument cluster when it detects a preceding car.  Once it gets to a very low speed it disengages and the braking is over to you it emergency brake assist if you don’t brake

You are able to easily override it when it detects something that is not directly in your driving path by either steering braking of apply the throttle.

Well explained Stephen. It works really well on my drive back from the dealership. Just need to get over the weird feeling of the car choosing to brake just before I hit the brakes.

Looking forward to using the feature more over time.

Thank you 😃

It’s amazing how quickly you get used to letting the car start the braking.

I have had the odd time where it wants to start braking for a car parked on a kerb in an otherwise empty road, but it’s easy enough to override it.

We have this switched on on our NX350h and we find it quite unobtrusive but useful when approaching the back of traffic queues.

Not sure if I had mine yet although it seemed odd that I was logged out of the app the other day for no reason?
