I went into the garage yesterday and a caught a broom which was leaning against the garage wall. It fell and the top of the broom handle hit the offside wing. It was a very light tough yet it has left a dent in the wing. I didn't realise the metal was so thin. It's only a small dent about 15mm across  but enough to notice. Does anyone have any experience of using a dent removal company? If I was part exchanging the car like I usually do I wouldn't bother. But this is the first car I have luckily bought on a PCP and given the price drop and negative equity it will be going back. I'm conscious that Lexus might want to try and make some money out so I probably will have to get it done some time.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Provided the ding is accessible from behind the panel a good dent removal person would be able to make the panel good as new.

I can verify personally as my Mondeo some years ago was subjected to a dent on the shoulder of the near side passenger door I watched in amazement as the ding was massaged out of the door panel before my own eyes.

Thanks Duggie. Not sure if it is easily accessible as it is on the top of the wing and I'm not sure how they would get at it. I'll see if I can find some company near to me to have a look.

I would certainly try a dent removal company. I'm sure they would tell you what was possible and hopefully not too expensive.

I like having my car in the garage but there is always a risk of dropping a tin of paint on it 🙈🙈. I lightly scratched my last car with sand paper that was in my pocket. Very annoying 🙈

Good luck 😀

John ……. Maybe don’t start to worry about all this till you’re a few months away from finishing your Contract at which time there might be other blemishes to resolve before handing back …… get it all sorted in one fell swoop ……. Heaven forbid there might be more serious issues to contend with including remedying this self same area you’re looking at right now 🤔

Malc, you're probably right but it bugs me to see a small dent or indeed stone chips so I won't rest until it's done. Probably OCD. I've always kept my cars in good condition and this is the first one I've had damage on -including a curbed  alloy a week after getting it. Ironic really being the first car I've ever sent back.

They may be able to do what the call a "glue pull" where they do not need to get behind it.
