That is the driver alertness monitor. The base level vehicles do not have this.

Interesting. That option is not available on any UX trim in the US, which is odd.

A long while back I had a Mercedes GLK350 which had this feature, but it worked by monitoring how jerky your steering wheel motions were. From my understanding, the first hour it would monitor your steering style, if you will, as a baseline, and then thereafter if you deviated from that, would show a coffee icon on the dash to "take a break," along with a few beeps.

On one road trip we took, it worked like a charm. I indeed knew I was tired, and it told me to take a break (I obliged).

On another one, though, we had added a Thule cargo carrier on the roof. We were driving in a remote stretch of highway in Arizona, with heavy and sudden crosswinds. I constantly had to keep correcting the steering because the cargo carrier acted as a sailing, blowing the car off to the side.

As a result, the alertness monitor thought I needed a break, and every five minutes or so would chime in, which got old fast.
