Car won’t start: Press Clutch and hit start/stop button

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

new here - car has picked up an issue - won’t start.

Press the clutch down and hit the start/stop button but nothing happens - car doesn’t turn over and start

Does anyone have advice on might be behind the issue

thanks in advance

Do the dashboard lights appear when you turn on the ignition?

If the engine doesn’t even turn over Tim, then that might suggest a very flat Battery problem.  If you don’t have access to something like a NOCO Jump starter then maybe get hold of a Battery charger.

Mind you, if that’s the original Battery then it’s well past its sell-by date and you will have to invest in a new one!

Hey,

Recently changed the Battery in the last couple of week - as the old Battery died - lights appear on the dashboard but the light on the start/stop button doesn’t turn green when clutch down

Check the fuse that powers the starter motor.  There are two fuse boxes - one in the engine compartment and one in the passenger footwell as I recall!).

The fuses are identified inside the covers, unfortunately I can’t recall where this particular fuse is.  Failing that - do you belong to the AA / RAC or similar?

Local garage look over it and told me steering lock control module that’s giving the vehicle problems.

There is a power and ground there, however the box is not releasing the ACC relay to start the vehicle.

is anyway I can get the Lexus software or is only via Lexus
