1998 LS400

When pushing on the end of the stalk for the windscreen washers, there is no pump sound and no water comes out. Wipers are working correctly.

The pump has been replaced and the headlight washers are working.

obviously no connection somewhere between the stalk and the pump, but where?

TIA

German/Luxembourg border but a Brit.
There is water as it comes out when the headlight washer button is pressed.
The car has to have its equivalent of an MOT in the next weeks, so we need to get it working.

I think there are  two seperate lines on the 98 model each one operating different functions, the head light washers with individual pumps are set in the bumper and the windscreen line comes from the pump  at the reservior.

Yep, you are right there is a separate pump for the headlight cleaner.
Maybe it’s just the fuse for the windscreen washer pump.
