Hello Lexus lovers.

I bought my RX450H+ end of March this year.  Noticed the notifications in the app for back seat reminder notifications. So turned that off as this was annoying. Then also noticed, not always but somtimes when locking the car with the smart door handel and fob the car will beep 9 times.  I've tried to Google this. Some say it's the cars back seat reminder and if you don't open the rear doors before locking you will get this beeps. I've even tried opening the rear doors and locking it but still beeps 9 times....sometimes. I noticed on utube in America, owners have the option to turn off back seat reminder in the software but in the UK this is not built into our software.

Any of your guys have the same issue?

Thanks. Mark

Hi Mark, the 9 beeps usually signify the warning that something has possibly been left in either the front or rear seats, or the boot. When you turn off the car you will get a beep and a visual warning on the dash. To disable this warning you need to press the OK button (bottom of the four on the left hand side thumb control, assuming you have HUD). I recognise that you have tried opening and closing doors, but I think unless you reopen the door that has triggered the signal it won’t be muted. It’s also worth noting that if you have driven with a passenger (or opened the boot before travelling) then switched off the car and then resumed your journey soon after the setting will still be live and will need cancellation at the conclusion of your journey. It’s a bit nannying to say the least, but better than forgetting about the fresh fish you left in the boot on a hot day 😉😂

Hi Kevin. Tried it this morning after finishing night shift. Noticed the notification on the HUD and dash display. Pressed the left section OK. Button to acknowledge. Locked car and no beeps.  So hopefully that's sorted it.  Many thanks for your reply.

I get the beeps on my new LBX plus the notification on the dashboard to check rear seats.  I chased up with Lexus Swindon and I was informed it is a safety requirement to remind drivers not to leave a child in the car! Seems a bit implausible.  “Have you got the baby?” “No, I thought you had!”

Yes, it does seem unlikely. However the device would have been useful for my mum who went shopping in Woolworths, came home, then remembered she’d left me outside the shop in the pram! 😂❤️
