10 year service schedule

Hello

My GS 300H will be due it’s 10th year service in mid October…….the dealer called me up advising if I service it earlier before mid August then I’ll get an extra years warranty included, as the current warranty will end in October 2024 otherwise.

They enticed me enough at this point, but then quoted a hefty £660 for that service!

Previous services whether minor/major haven’t been as costly.

What’s so special about this 10 year service to justify that cost, I cannot seem to find any information online about this.

Am I really just paying for the extra years warranty, although they’re claiming it to be free, or is this deal actually worth it?

Obviously it means I’ll be servicing it two months earlier than due; and it’s only barely done around 3000 miles since last service.

thank you

£660 is the standard price for a GS full service (every second year):

Going two months early is essential costing you an extra £110 (2/12th’s of the service cost)… bargain for a year’s warranty!

But why not get it serviced at the beginning of October? You'll then have the warranty until October 2025.

I had mine serviced two weeks before end of October 23 (10 year registration date) and so have Relax warranty until end October 2024 - meaning 11 years Relax warranty.

Thinking about it, perhaps date of first registration was August. The car may be older than 10 years in October.....

As per the link from @Tickedon that is the price for a full service but in addition the 10th year service includes the first engine coolant change. If your previous services haven't been that costly I would say you had a friendly dealer.

I believe because the vehicle was registered in August 2014, the 10th year would be this August hence I’m being advised to have it done by August.

That’s what I’ll also be doing

Thanks for pointing this out, I didn’t realise that was the standard cost for a full service…..for some reason on all the invoices I’ve seen for previous full services by a Lexus Dealer were not as much, not sure why, maybe the previous owner got some loyalty or concessionary discounts or something

Thanks for pointing this out…..yes for some reason the previous full services were not as much. I’ve only had it for a few months, the previous owner had it since new and had regular services and maintenance from the same dealer. He kept all invoices and documents ever since purchase, so that’s how I got to see the costs etc.

Lexus simplified their service scheme a year or two ago to just intermediate and full, the price is now the same regardless of whether extra items such as spark plug & coolant changes are included, I believe the price of the 10-year service actually went down.
