Annoying beeping sound

Recommended Posts

Every few mins a get 2 beeps which I can't seem to turn off. I have the speed limit set to none so it's not that. Any idea what it can be?

Any warning message - the Driver Monitor flashes a text box. Have you disabled sound warning as well as visual on the speed limits.
If your not getting a warning message or light then I suggest a call to the dealer.

I thought it might be Google maps alerting me to the average speed check but I have the notifications set to mute so it not that either. Have the speed limit set to mute and no warming notifications flashing up, just an annoying beep beep every so often so no apparent reason, I'll keep investigating...

Hi, my RX does a double beep ahead of a speed camera based upon the Lexus navigation system. I know you’ve muted the google maps but I wonder if it’s the native system generating it? There again you’d probably notice the coincidence ….

The annoying beep is a speed limit alert that activates if you drive 31 mph in a 30 mph zone. It needs to be turned off every time you start the car, which is both distracting and frustrating.

I drive most of the time in an average speed check zone area so it might indeed be that going off. Is there anyway to disable the speed camera warnings in the lexus Nav system?

the amount of beeps i get is unbelievable.

So far I have gathered the following:

  • over Speed Limit even by 1Mph it beeps.   can be turned off but has to be done EVERY time you start the car.
  • Speed Camera:  even your not using the Lexus Navigation (or if your in another nav package)
  • Overtaking.    if you indicate to overtake and there is a car coming up it beeps.
  • Traffic.   although it mostly announces bad traffic but when your in navigation mode.
  • On locking:  if you have opened the rear door before a journey but not when you completed it. (thinks you left a child in the back)
  • Windows open when locking
  • Parked too close to something.  (so damned handy in a car park at 3am....)

I have still not fathomed them all but the ironic thing is this car beeps at absolutely anything yet the indicators are the quietest in the world.   i end up having to look to see if they are on rather than just listening out for them

The baby in the  back thing in the US, at least you can disable that in the US…. there’s a youtube video showing you how to do it…..I followed it but on the uk model that  screen option has been removed! And totally agree re the indicators, I keep looking too!

The beeps are annoying. But you can turn off speed cameras, adjust the speed limit warning upwards by a couple of mph, you can turn off the warning in the mirrors of an overtaking car not sure if doing that mutes the sound as well.
The beeps on closing the tailgate, locking the car and also reversing are particularly annoying. I live with the others as I have made all the safety notifications as quiet as they can go and changed all the warnings as to late as possible etc.
